Miki began working on the series on Akita Shoten‘s Weekly Shounen Champion on August 1, 2019, eventually reaching twenty tankoubon releases as of August 8, 2023. In 2020 the manga has been licensed in several European countries, including France by Kana in September 2020, Germany by Kazé in October 2020, Spain by Panini Comics in April 2021, and Italy by Planet Manga in August 2021. In the year 20xx, the sudden appearance of superpowered, costumed heroes brought about an unprecedented era of peace. Every nation on Earth has its own hero, and their incredible exploits are all over the news. Among them stands out (which might be an odd choice of words) Japan’s resident hero, codenamed “SHY” (real name: Momijiyama Teru). Cripplingly timid and plagued by insecurities and misgivings, the responsibilities of her role are daunting and terrifying to her. But deep down she truly wants to help others, and she has the power to overcome her fears when the chips are down. This is an unusually delicate and human superhero story about a girl trying to do the right thing despite all, shivering in her boots every step of the way.

In the leadup to the upcoming premiere, other Champion artists have contributed celebrative illustrations, among which Watanabe Wataru (Yowamushi Pedal), Anbe Masahiro (Shinryaku! Ika Musume), and Itagaki Paru (Beastars).
