Pony Canyon has confirmed that Miyashita Hiroki’s manga Uchuujin MuuMuu (Me and the Alien MuuMuu) has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation in 2025. It has also been announced that the anime will star Harumi Momo as Sakurako Umeyashiki and Kozakura Etsuko as MuuMuu.
Manga author Miyashita (Seigi Keikan Monju and the artist for Ninkyou Tensei) started the manga in June 2019 in Shonengahosha’s Young King Ours magazine, and Shonengahosha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2020. The manga’s seventh volume was released in May 2024.

A cat-like alien from a distant galaxy, MuuMuu, arrives on Earth. His goal is to learn about home appliance technology on Earth to recover the technology his species has lost. The protagonist, Sakurako, has a typical university life, but everything changes with MuuMuu’s arrival! What begins as an unexpected cohabitation quickly turns into a whirlwind of chaotic events. The chemistry between Sakurako and MuuMuu leads to a super-spectacular, appliance-filled, and cat comedy adventure.
