AnimeFesta has released a new trailer for the Yatara Yarashii Fukami-kun (Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami) TV anime and it confirmed that the anime’s fully uncut version will premiere on OceanVeil, WWWave Corporation’s new streaming platform, on March 14th, 2025. The OceanVeil streaming platform will launch on March 11th, 2025.

The anime will premiere on Japanese TV on April 6th, 2025, on the Tokyo MX and BS11 channels and be simultaneously released in Japan and overseas on the Coolmic website. Ouzota Akane directs the anime at Studio Houkiboshi and the anime stars Chasuke as Akihiro Kaji and Yakitarou Marchmallow as Yu Fukima.
The anime is an adapatation of Matsumoto Ayaka’s Yatara Yarashii Fukami-kun (Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami) manga. Matsumoto started the Boy’s Love manga in December 2022 on WWWave Corporation’s ComicFesta website. Suiseisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in January 2024 and the second volume in July 2024. The manga’s third volume will be released on March 18th, 2025. Both Coolmic and Renta! publish the manga in English.
The manga follows Kaji, who is well-liked but secretly rates everyone and looks down on them. On a business trip with Fukami, Kaji gives him a flat 0. However, after a bath, Fukami transforms into a completely different person! Thus begins the obstinate relationship between a playboy narcissist and a deceivingly frumpily dressed, hot-bodied otaku!
