Yo! Just stumbled across The Skin Trees over on NamiComi and honestly, that title alone hooked me immediately. The whole concept of a boy growing up while these bizarre, unsettling trees covered in literal skin start cropping up is such a killer hook for a psychological horror story. Victory Cloud has a really cool, eerie atmosphere going on here, and the raw premise is just begging for a proper visual adaptation. I can already see how crazy this would look in a high contrast manga style especially the actual texture of the trees. Drawing panels where the bark morphs from rough wood into pale, vein lined skin, or showing the MC’s reaction as he realizes what he’s looking at, would go incredibly hard. Black-and-white ink work with heavy, gritty shadowing is practically built for this kind of body horror and slow burn dread.
