This is the original finished chapter of the first instalment of "Mechanism", in addition to sketched comic pages. For those who want to read the story as soon as possible, instead of waiting for the finalized pages. I started on it as fast as I could when I first got a laptop and drawing tablet in 2018, got my hand broken in several places, got married and didn't know anything about the drawing program I was using for free by the time I had finished the first chapter in 2021. By the end of it, I had learned how to use everything properly, set some digital tools up for coloring the comic and...I wanted to color chapter 1, but I couldn't. Not without making a mess of the images. I had unwittingly painted so many things white or smoky greyscale that rendering color onto the images was terrible (in my opinion). So, I began reworking chapter 1 while laying down the groundwork for chapters 2-3 and sketching all the way to chapter 10, as of posting this. This original chapter (with all of its quirks) ought to go up, along with spoiler-y sketches of the next chapters- seeing as I am moving ever so slowly on producing the finished product.
