Square Enix has confirmed that the Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musou: Nidome no Tensei, S-Rank Cheat Majutsushi Boukenroku (From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage/落第賢者の学院無双 ～二度目の転生、Ｓランクチート魔術師冒険録～) manga by Kentarou has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation, which will premiere in July 2026.
Ishii Hisashi is directing the anime at EMT Squared, and the anime will star Umeda Shuuichirou as Ephtal, Osanai Reo as Anastasia and Shiraishi Haruka as Marin.
Both Kentarou and Ishii have released illustrations in celebration of the anime news.
Kentarou started the manga in September 2019 in Square Enix’s Manga UP! website, and Square Enix published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in January 2020. The manga’s eighth volume was released in June 2025.

The manga is an adpatation of the Rakudai Kenja no Gakuin Musou: Nido Tensei Shita Saikyou Kenja, 400-nen-go no Sekai o Maken de Musou (落第賢者の学院無双 ～二度転生した最強賢者、400年後の世界を魔剣で無双～) light novel series by Shiraishi Arata.
Shiraishi started the original story as a webnovel, and Kadokawa published the first novel in print in October 2019 with illustrations by uodenim. The series’s eighth novel was released in March 2022.
