Pony Canyon has revealed a new trailer and visual for the Kaitou Queen no Yuuga na Vacances (Mirage Queen vacances élégantes) anime film. The film, directed by Ikeda Shigetaka at East Fish Studio, will premiere on May 23rd, 2025.
The film is inspired by the Kaitou Queen wa Circus ga Osuki (Mirage Queen Aime Cirque) light novel series by author Hayamine Kaoru and illustrator K2 Shoukai.
Kadokawa published Hayamine’s first short story in 2000 and the first full-length novel with illustrations by K2 Shoukai in March 2002. The latest novel in the series was released in July 2024. The novel’s story centers on a phantom thief queen who can steal anything they desire. Their gender, age, and nationality are unknown. Together with their partners Joker and RD, they fly around the world in their airship.
The novel series was adapted into an OVA in June 2022, titled Kaitou Queen wa Circus ga Osuki (Mirage Queen Prefers Circus). Yamata Yuuga, Katou Kazuki, and Uchida Yuuma will all reprise their roles from the original OVA, as Queen, Joker, and RD. Hirose Yuuya will reprise the role of Koutarou Nishitouji, Shimizu Ayaka will return as Mari Itou, and Suwabe Junichi will once again star as the story’s narrator. Hoshino Mitsuaki will join the cast as Satchmo along with Cocomi who will star as Ilma.
