The 29th tankoubon volume of the Kokuei no Junk: Mensur-hen (Junk the Black Shadow/ 黒影のジャンク～大決闘会編～) manga by Nakao Takuya will be released on November 19th, 2025, while the manga’s 30th and final volume will be released on November 28th, 2025.
Nakao started the original manga in May 2017 on the Cycomi website and ended it in May 2025. Kodansha released the manga’s first volume under the name Kokuei no Junk/ 黒影のジャンク in November 2017 and the fifth volume in April 2019.
Shogakukan then published the subsequent manga volumes, under the name Kokuei no Junk: Mensur-hen/ 黒影のジャンク～大決闘会編～, starting with volume one in July 2019. The manga’s 28th volume was released on October 30th, 2025.
The manga follows Junk, who is a dropout wizard. His father is considered one of the nation’s heroes, one of the Twelve Brave Generals. The story centres on Junk as he throws himself into a fierce battle, aiming to win the Mensour, a great duel tournament that his late father is said to have participated in! Who will emerge victorious from the diverse wizards and become the next Twelve Brave General?
