The fourth tankoubon volume of the Ao to Kagero (Blue Summer Haze/青と陽炎 ) manga by Dondon has revealed that the manga will end with the release of the fifth volume, in the winter of 2027.
Dondon started the romance manga in December 2023 in Kodansha’s Honey Milk, and Kodansha published the manga’s first volume in August 2024. The manga’s fourth volume was released on July 14th, 2026.
Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English under the name Blue Summer Haze, and it released the manga’s first volume digitally and in print on July 7th, 2026. Kodansha USA describes the manga story below:
“Makoto’s favorite childhood memories are of playing baseball with his best friend and former teammate Shusuke, the catcher of his baseball team. When Shusuke suddenly moved away, Makoto was left devastated, but he clung to the promise of the two of them someday reuniting for the championship game at Koshien Stadium. Now in high school, Makoto is the ace pitcher of the baseball team, and he and Hokuto, the team’s catcher, are an all-star duo. But then Shusuke suddenly transfers back to Makoto’s school, and it gets harder and harder for the boys to keep their heads in the game under the scorching heat of the baseball diamond…”
