The Kami-sama Gakkou no Ochikobore (The Failure at God School/神さま学校の落ちこぼれ) manga by Hyuuga Natsu and Akagawara Modomu will be adapted into a TV anime. The anime’s official website has revealed a visual for the show, and Akagawara has released an illustration in celebration of the anime news.

Writer Hyuuga (The Apothecary Diaries) and artist Akagawara started the manga in August 2021 in Hakkusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine, and Hakusensha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in January 2022. The manga’s 15th volume will be released on September 18th, 2026.

The manga was adapted into a novel series by Hyuuga and Akagawara. Star Seas Company published the first novel in January 2022 and the fifth novel in May 2025.

Yen Press releases the manga in English under the name The Failure at God School, and it will release the fourth volume on September 22nd, 2026. Yen Press describes the manga story below:

“Nagi’s normal! Gods are supposed to give girls like her divine aid, not invitations to the most prestigious magic academy in Japan!! Modern life means modern solutions, even to supernatural problems. So of course the government would have a classification system, special schools, and licenses for people with mysterious powers—any manifestation of a miracle is enough to be called a Himiko, but only those with full certification may use the title of God.
