Sasaki Noriyoshi is directing the anime at Studio Clutch and Studio Seven, and the anime will star Izumi Fuka as Alia.
The anime’s story is described below:
“Alicia lost her parents to a monster attack when she was four years old. Now an orphan, she lives at an
orphanage in an old church in a small town, where she is mistreated and forced to work by the elderly
caretaker and the older children.
One day, an unexpected incident reveals the truth: she is the heroine of an otome game.
Alicia learns that this world is the setting of an otome game, and that everything she has endured, from the
death of her parents to the harsh life she now leads, is nothing more than part of its predetermined story.
Her response is simple: “It’s all stupid.”
Refusing to accept the otome game or the fate it has written for her, Alicia leaves everything behind, takes the
name Alia, and sets out as an adventurer, determined to survive on her own terms.”
The anime is an adaptation of the light novel series by Harunohi Biyori and Hitaki Yu. Author Harunohi (Akuma Koujo) started the story in March 2019 on the Shousersuka ni Narou website, and TO Books published the first novel with illustrations by Hitaki (Fuguushoku [Kanteishi] ga Jitsu wa Saikyou Datta – Naraku de Kitaeta Saikyou no [Shingan] de Musou Suru) in April 2021. The series’s 11th novel was released in June 2026.
The novels were adapted into a manga titled Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival @COMIC by Wakasa Kobato. The manga started serialisation in August 2021 on TO Book’s Comic Corona, and the first tankoubon volume was published in February 2022. The ninth volume will be released on October 15th, 2026.
J-Novel Club releases the novel series and the manga adaptation in English, and it describes the novel’s story below:
“Orphaned by a monster attack on her village, young Alicia spends three horrid years in an orphanage before finally running away. When she flees, however, Alicia has a violent encounter with an older woman hell-bent on killing her. During their tussle, she comes into contact with a strange crystal that bestows upon her a wealth of knowledge, transforming her from an innocent child into a cool and calculated planner.
Now aware that she was meant to be the protagonist of an otome game and disgusted with her supposed fate, Alicia decides to take matters into her own hands and become strong—by any means necessary. Using her newfound knowledge and with some help from a stranger she meets in the woods, she learns to survive by herself in a world far too harsh and unforgiving for a girl her age. Ready or not, she’s determined to carve her own path.”
