​​Aniplex has announced that the light novel Make Heroine ga Ooisugiru! (Too Many Losing Heroines!) has been given the green light for an anime adaptation slated for broadcast in 2024.

Imigimuru, the novel’s illustrator, drew a new visual in commemoration of the anime announcement.

The original novel, created by Amamori Takibi and illustrated by Imigimuru, was released 2021 under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko label. The sixth volume of the novel will be published on December 18, 2023. The official Twitter account for the light novel series announced in July 2023 that the novels will get an English release; however, the English publisher has not yet confirmed.

Make Heroine ga Ooisugiru! Novel Volume 6

The novel series centres on Kazuhiko Nukumizu, a guy who fades into the background of his classroom. When he unintentionally witnesses Anna Yanami, a popular girl in her class, get turned down by her childhood friend, he talks to Anna in the aftermath. In a mix of sadness and anger, Anna reveals that her childhood friend had promised to marry her in the past, though it was when they were four or five years old. While Kazuhiko feels sorry for Anna, he also can’t help but think that kind of promise made in childhood doesn’t count. Before he knows it, he starts meeting girls at school who have all been turned down by guys they like.

Make Heroine ga Ooisugiru! Manga Volume 2

The novels have also inspired a manga adaptation created by Itachi (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai). The manga was first published in April 2022 in Shogakukan’s Manga ONE service, and Shogakukan has since published the manga’s second tankoubon volume in August 2023.
