The official website for the TV anime Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yaman (A Condition Called Love) began to stream a teaser trailer this week and confirmed that the anime will premiere in April 2024.

Makino Tomoe (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Kotaro Lives Alone) directs the anime at East Fish Studio. The anime will star Hanazawa Kana as Hotaru Hinase and Kobayashi Chiaki as Noi Hana/Hananoi-kun.

The anime is an adaptation of the manga by Morino Megumi (My Fair Neighbor, Ohayou, Ibara Hime), which won the Best Shoujo Manga award in Kodansha‘s 45th Manga Awards in 2021. Morino launched the manga in December 2017 in Kodansha’s Monthly Dessert magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s 14th book volume in November 2023. Kodansha USA started publishing the manga digitally in English in 2020 and releasing printed volumes in English.
