Yoshihara Tatsuya (Aruvu Rezuru – Kikai Jikake no Yousei-tachi) directed the anime’s first season at studio Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures. The anime premiered on July 7th, 2024, and the final episode aired on September 29th, 2024. All 12 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

The anime is based on the Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria (Wistoria: Wand and Sword) manga by Oumori Fujino and Aoi Toshi. Author Oumori (Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka) and illustrator Aoi launched the manga in December 2020 in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2021. The tenth volume in the series was released in June 2024.
