The official website for the TV anime Haigakura confirmed this week that they will delay the anime from its eighth episode onwards so that staff can ensure the show’s quality. They have also confirmed that the anime’s first six episodes will be rebroadcast weekly starting November 25th, 2024 and that the broadcast schedule for episodes eight and beyond has yet to be determined.

The Haigakura anime premiered on October 7th, 2024, on the Tokyo MX channel and then on the Sun TV and BS Asahi channels. The anime was being streamed via Amazon Prime Video in English as it aired.

Yamamoto Junichi directed the anime at Typhoon Graphics studio, and the anime stars Outsuka Takeo as Ichiyou and Ishikawa Kaito as Tenkou.

The anime is an adaptation of Takayama Shinobu’s Haigakura manga, which began serialization in 2008 in Ichijinsha’s Zero-Sum Ward magazine. The magazine ceased publication in 2015, and the manga was moved to Zero-Sum Online. Ichijinsha has since published 17 tankoubon volumes, the latest of which was released on October 31st, 2024.

The manga is set in a secluded realm where deities and mortals dwell. A youth named Ichiyou sets out to capture the gods who have fled and scattered all over the realm. With the subordinate god Tenkou, Ichiyou seeks the four evil gods holding the key to the realm’s collapse.
