Sakumine’s Koukyuu Shakki-den: Imouto no Migawari o Shiteitara, Itsunomanika Koutei ya shougun ni Chpuai Sareteimasu manga will end with the release of its third tankoubon volume on May 7th, 2025. The manga is an adaptation of the light novel series by Harunadon.
Harunadon (Replica Datte, Koi o Suru) started the original story on the Kakuyomu website in 2021, and Square Enix published the first novel with illustrations by Haruno Taku (Mujikakuna Tensai Majutsushi wa Nonbiri Kurashitai) in June 2022 and the third novel in October 2023.
Sakumine adapted the novels into a manga in August 2023 in Square Enix’s MangaUp! Service and Square Enix published the manga’s first volume in October 2023 and the second volume in August 2024.
A tomboyish village girl, Yiyi, who prefers sweets over flowers, is informed by her adoptive parents on their deathbed that she was born into a noble family and that she has a twin sister. In order to meet her long-lost sister, Yiyi sets off on a journey to the harem, where she will likely be as the emperor’s wife! However, when she arrives at the harem, instead of becoming a lady-in-waiting, she somehow becomes a military officer!? What’s more, her superior is a scowling, cold-hearted general…?
