Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits manga service has confirmed that Tanaka Aya will launch a a manga adapatation of Asahina Kiyo’s Shiro Tengu no Nie Yome (The White Tengu’s Sacrificial Bride) light novel series. The manga adapatation will begin serialisazion on May 22nd, 2025 on the Yawaraka Spirits manga service.

Publisher Shogakukan released Asahina’s (Shinigami no Hatsukoi) first novel, with illustrations by Oaka Mai (Yami Zokusei no Kiraware Oujo wa, Horobi no Rensa o Tachikiritai), in February 2024. A sequel novel was released in September 2024, and the latest book was released on April 4th, 2025.

The Shiro Tengu no Nie Yome novel series follows Shino Nakamura, a young girl who is tricked into becoming bait for the fearsome tengu creatures who dwell in the mountains. The white tengu who appears before her, however, offers to save her instead of eating her.

Manga author Tanaka adapted the Ouhi Berta no Shouzou (A Biography of Queen Berta) light novel series by Nishino Himawari. The manga titled Ukkari Heika no Ko o Ninshin Shite Shimaimashita: Ouhi Berta no Shouzou, was seriealised in Square Enix’s Manga UP! from April 2020 to April 2021.

Tanaka also adapted Kobashiro Kakeru’s Shaman King Faust8: Eien no Eliza (Eliza the Eternal) spinoff novel into a manga from July 2021 to August 2022 in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket service. This was followed by the Ano Ko wa Shoujo no Furi o Shite (She Pretends to Be a Girl) manga in Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry from June 2023 to May 2024.
