Shueisha’s Orange Bunko website confirms that the story will be available to read before the novel is published and that the story will be serialised three times a month. No date has been confirmed for the novel’s release.
Shueisha published Tsujimura’s first novel in December 2015 with illustrations by Yukihiro Utako, and the latest novel, number 14, was released in September 2024. Due to the novel’s popularity, a TV anime adaptation premiered in January 2020.
The Housekisho Richard-shi no Nazo Kantei novels were also adapted into a manga by Akatsuki Mika in November 2019 in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sum magazine. The manga’s first tankoubon volume was released in March 2020, and the sixth volume in March 2024. The manga went into hiatus in May 2024, and no return date has been confirmed yet.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the novel series and manga adaptation in English under the name The Case Files of Jeweler Richard, and it will release the 11th novel on December 30th, 2025. It also published the manga’s sixth volume on April 8th, 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the novel’s story below:
When Seigi Nakata rescued a handsome young jewelry appraiser from a group of drunken assailants, he got more than he bargained for! The appraiser is Richard Ranasinghe de Vulpian, a brilliant and mysterious British jewelry expert. Seigi hires him to appraise a family heirloom…and that is just the beginning. Together, they unlock the secret messages hidden in the hearts of precious stones–and those who possess them.
