Author Suisue started the original story in July 2013 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and Futabasha published the first novel with illustrations by La-na in October 2014. The third novel was released in August 2015.

The novels were adapted into a manga by Kairi in January 2021 on Futabasha’s Gaugau Monster website, and Futabasha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2021. The manga’s 12th volume was published in July 2025, and the 13th volume is scheduled for release on December 26th, 2025.

The story follows Yoki, a man who is reincarnated into a fantasy world. Unfortunately, Yoki did not reincarnate as a hero or the demon lord; instead, he is the demon lord’s underling. When a hero’s party attacks the demon lord’s castle, Yoki is naturally there to fight against the heroes; however, when he sees the priestess Cecilia, who is part of the hero’s party, he falls in love at first sight.
