Staff for the Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru (Kunon the Sorcerer Can See Through/ 魔術師クノンは見えている) TV anime has revealed the anime’s key visual and confirmed that the anime will premiere on January 4th, 2026, on the Tokyo MX channel at 10:00 p.m. JST.
The anime will also air on the BS Asahi channel on January 4th at 26:00 JST (effectively January 5th at 02:00 a.m.), and on WOWOW on January 6th at 24:30 JST (effectively January 7th at 00:30 a.m.). Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs.
Ouba Hideaki is directing the anime at Platinum Vision studios, and the anime will star Hayami Saori as Kunon Gurion, Uchida Maaya as Iko Round, and Kitou Akari as Mirika Huguria.

The anime is based on Minamino Umikaze’s Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru light novel series. Minamino (Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston) started the ongoing story on the Shoutsuka ni Narou website in August 2021. Kadokawa published the first novel, with illustrations by Laruha (Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi) in March 2022, and the eighth novel is scheduled for release on December 10th, 2025.
In April 2022, La-na (Crow Record: Infinite Dendrogram Another) adapted the series into a manga for Kadokawa’s Comic Alive magazine. Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2022, and the seventh volume will be released on December 23rd, 2025.
The novel series is released in English by Yen Press under the title Kunon the Sorcerer Can See, and it will publish its fifth novel on January 6th, 2026. The story is described below:
“Born blind, Kunon aims to be the first person to use water magic to create new eyes for himself. After five months of study, he has already surpassed his teacher and continues to grow his talents. Not only can his magic help him sense color, but he can also use it to make handy items and even conjure a whole cat! Word of his skills and ingenuity soon reached the court and earned him a spot as a disciple to the most powerful magician in the land. But is his ultimate goal even attainable?”
Yen Press also releases the manga adaptation in English under the title Kunon the Sorcerer Can See, and it will publish the manga’s second volume on March 24th, 2026.
