Staff for the Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria (Wistoria: Wand and Sword/ 杖と剣のウィストリア) TV anime have released a new trailer and visual for the anime’s second season, scheduled to premiere in April 2026.

Yoshihara Tatsuya directed the anime’s first season at studio Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures, while the anime’s second season is directed by Nakano Hideaki. Yoshihara will now act as the general director for the show at Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures.
The anime’s first season premiered on July 7th, 2024, and all 12 episodes can be streamed on the Crunchyroll website under the name Wistoria: Wand and Sword. Crunchyroll describes the anime’s story below:
“In a world where magic reigns, Will Serfort can’t cast a spell. Though hardworking, Will’s classmates think less of him for it. However, he has a secret strength: his sword. Can Will defy expectations with muscle over magic and blade over wand? Find out in this epic sword-and-sorcery adventure!”

The anime is based on the Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria manga by Oumori Fujino and Aoi Toshi. Author Oumori (Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka) and illustrator Aoi launched the manga in December 2020 in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2021. The manga’s 14th volume was released on November 7th, 2025.


Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English under the name Wistoria: Wand and Sword, and it will release the manga’s 11th volume on January 27th, 2026. It describes the manga’s story below:
“Seeking to fulfil a promise to a childhood friend, Will Serfort enters Regarden Magical Academy with the goal of making it to the top of the magical world. There’s just one problem: he can’t use magic! Will his sword skills be the key to unlocking his true potential?”
