The Kin to Tetsu (Fungus and Iron/ 菌と鉄 ) manga by Katayama Ayaka will be getting a TV anime adaptation. The anime’s official website has opened, and a teaser visual has been released. Katayama has also released an illustration in celebration of the anime news.

Manga creator Katayama started the manga in March 2021 on Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in July 2021. The manga’s eighth volume was released in October 2025.
Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English under the name Fungus and Iron, and it released the manga’s eighth volume digitally on February 24th, 2026. Kodansha USA describes the manga story below:
