The story follows Koganemaru, a shapeshifting tanuki (raccoon dog), who heads out into the city to recruit humans to increase the number of inhabitants of his mountain. “Hey, why don’t you become a tanuki?” A tired office lady, a host with a difficult personality, a bully struggling with his relationship with his parents, and various other people with different problems rediscover what is truly important in life by becoming a tanuki. This is a story about people who are tired of trying so hard, and how their encounters with the tanuki help them re-examine themselves.
