The first promotional video for the Elf-san wa Yaserarenai (Plus-Sized Elf) TV anime was released this week, confirming some of the staff for the show. The anime is set to premiere in July 2024.

Tokoro Toshikatsu (Why the Hell Are You Here, Teacher!?, Soul Link, Hunter X Hunter: G I Final) directs the anime at studio Elias. The show will star Itou Ayasa as Elfuda, Ishii Takahide as Tomoatsu Naoe, Hasegawa Rena as Kuroeda, and Fukuhara Ayaka as Oga.

The anime is based on Synecdoche’s manga, first published on Wani Book’s Comic Gum website in December 2016. In November 2021, Akita Shoten published the manga’s eighth tankoubon volume, and in June 2022, the company began re-releasing the first seven volumes of the original manga.
