Happinet confirmed this week that the TV anime Maou-gun Saikyou no Majutsushi wa Ningen Datta (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human) will premiere on July 3rd, 2024 on the Tokyo MX channel. Happinet explicitly states that the anime is an adaptation of the manga by Anajiro, which is an adaptation of the original light novel series of the same name.
The Maou-gun Saikyou no Majutsushi wa Ningen Datta manga created by Anajiro is based on the novel series by Hata Ryousuke (Realist Maou ni yoru Seiiki naki Isekai Kaikaku, Takarakuji ga Atatta node Level 1 kara Seiken o Katte Miru) and illustrated by Kuma. Hata launched the light novel series on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2016, and Futabasha published the fifth novel in April 2018.
Anajiro started the manga adaptation in 2019 on Futabasha’s Gaugau Monster website. Futabasha released the manga’s first tankoubon volume in September 2019, and the 11th volume will be released on June 14th, 2024.
