Hey Peppered Productions! I was just digging around on NamiComi and got completely hooked on "HDSO: ANGELS IN BLACK MASKS." Honestly, that description of a bleak, cinder filled universe of war where only massive, armored soldiers in gas masks remain is incredibly striking. It has this quiet, heavy, almost tragic weight to it that you don’t always see in sci fi, and your focus on wanting these worn out fighters to just live better lives adds a beautiful, grounded layer of empathy to a brutal setting. That grim atmosphere would translate into some incredibly powerful comic panels. I keep picturing a massive, high contrast illustration of one of those heavy, hulking soldiers sitting alone amidst the ash of a battlefield, staring at their hands with the harsh texture of their gas mask rendered in sharp black inks and negative space. Drawing that contrast a giant, terrifying machine of war looking completely fragile and human is exactly the kind of visual storytelling that hits readers straight in the chest.
