Create your title, step by step

The title page is the first thing a reader sees. The Studio walks you through it in short stages, and it only takes a few minutes.
1. Language, name and description
Start with the primary language, the language the story is written in. Then add the name and a short description in that language. You can add other languages later.
Write the description for a stranger: who the story is about, what they want, and what stands in the way. Two or three sentences beat a long synopsis.
2. Cover and banner
The cover appears on every card across the site, so it has to read at thumbnail size. Use one strong image and a clear title.
The banner is optional and appears at the top of the title page. Avoid text in it, because it gets cropped differently on phones and desktops.
3. Content rating
Answer a few questions about violence, sexual content, drugs and gambling, and sensitive topics. Your answers set the rating to Safe or Mature. NamiComi is a PG-13 platform, so Safe means suitable for readers aged 13 and up, not for young children. You can also add content warnings. See Content ratings, tags and visibility for what this changes.
4. Format and reading direction
Choose Comic, Manga, Manhua, Manhwa or Novel. The format sets the default reading direction:
- Left to right for most comics.
- Right to left for manga.
- Long strip (top to bottom) for manhwa, manhua and webtoon-style work.
You can override the default while you create the title, and change it again later by editing the title.
5. Genres and themes
- Primary genre carries the most weight in deciding which Discover genre row showcases your title. Pick the genre that runs through the whole story.
- Secondary genre also counts, but much less.
- Additional genres do not affect where the title is showcased. They tell readers what to expect.
- Themes power Advanced Search. Only add themes that are already visible in published chapters.
6. Publication details
Set the status (ongoing, completed, hiatus or cancelled), the year, and what your chapters and volumes are called, such as "Episode" or "Season".
Nami's tip: If a moderator rejects the title, the message says why. Fix that one thing and resubmit. Submissions are limited, so don't resubmit without changes.
