Nami saying hello in several languages

NamiComi is built for readers everywhere, and the same title can carry chapters in many languages. Each translation reaches readers you could not reach before.

What can be translated

  • Title name, description and cover: add them per language in the title's Edit tab, where the cover sits right next to the name and description. A cover per language means the lettering matches what the reader reads, and every cover also shows up in the Art tab.
  • Collections (volumes): each volume can have a version per language.
  • Chapters: upload the same chapter number again in another language.

How readers see it

Readers set their chapter languages in their settings, and can switch languages in the chapter list on the title page and inside the reader. A Spanish reader browsing in Spanish finds your Spanish chapters, while readers who chose English keep seeing your English ones.

Practical tips

  • Translate the first three chapters first. That is where readers decide whether to stay.
  • Keep chapter numbers the same across languages, so progress and comments line up.
  • Credit translators and letterers on the chapter or in a post. Good translators bring their own readers.
  • Lettering matters. A translated script with the original speech-bubble sizes often reads badly, so leave room to resize the bubbles.

Nami's tip: Every language counts toward the same title, so its views, follows and comments all add up in one place.
